Unofficial "Empty Server List" Fix

Heya Guys ~ First Post on the Forum! I have installed the etms_proxy_server.msi - thx to Rudi ~ only one problem, it is not showing in services.msc and I can find no way of removing it! Any Pointers?

It should be in add/remove programs. It was there for me.

I'm not really in a position to speak for id and ZeniMax, though I think it's safe to say that Splash would offer to step in should the master server ever be on the, ahem, brink.

So have you heard any news at all from ID?

And does that offer still stand? ;)

If they'd heard about ID, the server would be at SD, since I'm sure on this side the offer would be clearly applied.

other game => that is the problem: to run a server for another game, you must like the game ... and CallOfDuty and Battlefield series don't give the same pleasure as ET

I used to play sometimes RTCW, but their masterlist is also down, even if it is NOT a free game.

Well games like bf and cod series just isnt made to last, they get an update every year

they just dosent make games like css, wet and rtcw anymore

Was for the guys complaining and just crying on their money, and not the game; Seems some just want the list back they they don't mind putting money in it. If you have less people, have less servers. If you have a single server but no people, advertise, like it has been the case here. If you don't mind what I suggest, I don't care about your money. Join the Boot Camp.

Did it install correctly or did it fail?

There's a version here: http://www.rudiv.se/et/etms_proxy_installer_nohosts.msi

It doesn't modify the hosts file, so should install just fine. You will need to edit your hosts file (you can use DNSForce click 'Add New' and point hostname etmaster.idsoftware.com to IP 127.0.0.1, then Write/Save) manually.

Let me know if you still have issues..

They're still working on putting the new back-end infrastructure together. Still no ETA at the moment, but I'm expecting that to change soon.

redeclipse is nice and its free.
